Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles appear as we get older due to changes happening within our skin. Our skin has a protein called collagen that helps it stay firm and smooth. Another protein called elastin gives our skin its elasticity or stretchiness. As we age, our body produces less collagen and elastin, and the ones we have can start to break down. This makes our skin less firm and less flexible.

Additionally, over time, our skin cells don't renew as quickly as they used to when we were younger, and oils that keep our skin moist reduce. These factors make the skin drier and more prone to creases and folds, which we see as fine lines and wrinkles. Sun exposure, smoking, and certain facial expressions (like squinting or frowning) can also speed up the process and make wrinkles more prominent. So, wrinkles and fine lines are like little creases that form as a natural part of aging and from the effects of our lifestyle and habits.
